Mell and I met up with a couple of our NY-bred Pledge Bros from college. Jason and Tommy. Here we are @ AVA LOUNGE ontop the Majestic Hotel

Along with steak, there was the best BACON i have ever had, creamed spinach, and this tomato/onion appetizer I could've made @ home, as well as delish NYC cheesecake with a full-bowl of SHLAG (aka whipped cream). We like our food! 

THE MEAT.The liquid on the right is "the juice" aka fat. 

2nd Day: The three of us (jess, caroline, mell) found enough courage to take the subway by ourselves to Flatbush Brooklyn in the hunt for PETER LUGER's STEAKHOUSE. We braved a hollarin' TAXI DRIVER on the street who felt the need to tell us 3, "I LIKE WHAT I SEE!" (snicker, snicker). YUCK. Otherwise, the dinner was great! 

When you go to NYC for the first time, where else do you go besides Times Square? (Jess, Mell, Amelia, Jason)

First stop after arrival: JOE'S SHANGHAI in Chinatown for SOUP DUMPLINGS and SHANGHAI RICE CAKE. 6 peeps, 4 trays of dumplings. Heffers we are! 

BETTER THAN SEX CAKE baked by Jess. For Kat. Yummmmmmmmmy. Out of this world! Everyone had like...3 slices. It was gone by the end of the evening. Email me if you want recipes. Cheers!

Can you say F-E-A-S-T? The the hands of me, I cranked out a deliiiiishiiiious B-day Dinner for Katherine KAI-LIN Chen. Menu consisted of Seared Steak over a bed of Mixed Greens with Mango Salsa, Eggplant and Chicken Parmigiana, Roasted Eggplant and Asparagus... followed by Better Than Sex Cake. Wine was served as always! FOOD IS LIFE.
