Weekend Update...

This week has had quite a few cool events that are also part of SoY*summer of yes*, RTB and my initial "beginning of the year goals." Let's recap, past and present:
1. Went to see Jack's Mannequin in concert on Tuesday at Slim's in SF as part of the "I want to go see more concerts this year RTB". Now who is JM you ask? Well I had no idea til crazeeee Mell and Mao and my old coworkers @ Santa Monica Laura and April told me all about it. Their undying love for Andrew, the lead singer who recently has been battling cancer - and he's still smokin' cute. Most it's MAO and Laura. Mao is an awesome groupie. Her and Hannah drove up to the Bay on Monday night to see 2 JM concerts in a row. Then they're driving to Utah to catch a concert, then back to LA. THEN..they'll go to Austin, TX and then ATL. Crazy. For the love of JM!!! I give her props. She is living, ALMOST FAMOUS. Cheers!
-The concert was awesome and the company was great. Rolled with Mell, Vicky, Vicky's man Steve, their friend Whitney and Dean. We kicked off the evening at Primo Patio on Townsend in SF for some, I wanna say Carribean food? But of course they ran out of what I wanted *bermuda burrito...fresh red snapper and bay shrimp with chopped tomato and cilantro*, AND the 2nd thing I wanted *the burger*. Who runs out of burgers, granted it was game day but BURGERS!?! At a Carribean joint!? Anyways, the best part of dinner were the drinks - the BULI BULI.. beer with sugar and lime. SOOOO GOOOD...I want to recreate it for a summer bbq or cocktail party. Go here for the $7.50 pitcher of BULI BULI. Otherwise everything else is great too. Our waitress seems a little loopie. Like she was smokin' a joint or crack in the waiters station or something. But moving on.....
-We arrived a little before JM went on so us shortie asians (vicky and i, since mell doesn't count) scoped out for some quality space. Too bad the tall people and the big hair'd people and the "big" peeps are somehow always infront of you. Steve even had to lift Vicky up about 6 times so she could get a peek of the stage. heehee. It was cute!
-Now I didn't know JM songs til about 4 weeks ago when Mell was generous enough to burn me their album amongst other new albums. She is my mp3 crack dealer. Adddddddicted. So after finally listening to the songs, I'm a new proud fan of Jack's Mannequin!!!

2. Finally met my boy neighbor. Our dear friend Lance comes in so handy, always. You may know him from UCLA, from Omegas, from the dancefloor as he's done his signature "karate-chop" move. Lance is one of Wei's good friends from college and Alb's pbros. Anyways, the only reason we're living here @ Marlin Cove is because he suggested it because his friend aka boy neighbor lives here. After numerous emails and IM conversations about best things around this town, how this apartments works and after moving into this lovely pad, boy neighbor and I finally met to hang out on Thursday. It was a very cool meet-n-greet so to speak. Through this meet-n-greet I was able to discover some neighborhood hotspots and introduce him to the lovely world of Hangar One Vodka. =) So all my friends who are coming to town soon to visit, boy, do I have some little places to take you!
*Thai food @ Nipa-pon (decent, not out-of-this-world, but the Panang Curry sure was yummy)
*STINGER - aweeeesome superswank dark dive bar with SF flair, free street parking, and 5 minutes from my crib. They serve Hangar One....Kaffir Lime..Yum-o. Have great music playing in the back, not a packed house but the perfect amount of people. And from what I hear/read, the drinks won't cost you an arm and a leg.
*Tapioca Express - I told the Korean boy neighbor that Boba means Boobs in Chinese and he had never heard that before. It was a hoot. For those that aren't already aware of that,
***The consistency of tapioca pearls are somewhere between jell-o and chewing gum. They are the size of a marble. They are also known as the "boba" drink in Western China because it is described as to having the same texture as the female breasts.***

At this TapExpress they have Monday through Sunday "deals". We went on Thursday and the prize was .."Order 2 drinks and get Fried Banana". I think they give out cell phone accessories on Fridays or something. This is the one behind Marina Market. It's a teeny bopper crowd filled with San Mateo's neighboring high schools' finest -- since they obviously can't get into STINGER, thankfully!

3. Spent more time with my parents this week then I have in a few years? Granted parents drive you up the wall. They love to put pressure and stress on you when you clearly cannot handle anymore (at least none of the kind that they give you), but at the end of the day, you just train your mind and your patience to realize, they're just doing what's best for you and suck it up.

Another Reason Why I/You Can't Depend on Anyone Else But Yourself When.....

It comes to Money....
1. You can gamble your life away but don't gamble someone elses. By gamble, I mean, mess with, f*ck with, burn to shambles, etc.
2. Always have your own bank account.....for that rainy day. Not cuz you are looking forward to it or expecting it, but because, SH*T Happens. And when that happens, it pours, and it isn't always a quick sprinkle. Sometimes it rains hard. For long periods of time. And the only person that can change that.....is you.
3. Men don't change.
4. Don't ever be JUST a housewife unless your husband already supplemented your savings so you can live off of it for the rest of your life.
5. I will never be just a housewife without comfortable cheddar in my personal account. I will never be just a housewife without comfortable fromage in my personal account. I will never be just a housewife without comfortable queso in my personal account....and it's not for Gold-Digging purposes but it's because you can't be a housewife and think youre husband is going to keep bringing in cheddar for you and the kids for the rest of your life. Girl has got to take care of herself, incase, her husband falls down and she has to make it happen. Cuz she can.
6. Have your spare tire. Even the best cars, i.e. Mercedes, Bentleys, Beemers have one.

It comes to Love...
1. Fall hard. As long as you still have $$$$ in your personal account.
2. Uhh.. I'm not the expert so I'll just pull the brakes here. Keep posted for when pigs fly. I'll post in this section then. =P He'll show up. I swear, he will show! Keepin' the faith!

It comes to Happiness...
1. It's your own responsibility. Don't depend on someone else to do your own simple but hardwork.
2. You make what you want happen.
3. Be happy by yourself and let that other half be that extra guacamole you always think about getting but are too cheap to fork out the extra 75 cents for...let HIM/HER be simply luxurious. The bacon to your hamburger.

The rest below is taken from an e-mail I received from Mell today...it's words from the Queen Herself, Oprah, and it speaks the truth and the first FWD'd e-mail I've actually FWD'D/SPAMMED to my near and dear friends and family in a very long time! Please READ IT. BELIEVE IT. LIVE IT. PREACH IT. LOVE IT!!!!

My mom sent this to me and I thought it was worth a post. Here's what Oprah said about men:

*If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away. If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay. Jess: If the guy reallllly wanted to talk to you, ask you out, he would've called already and you wouldn't be sitting here reading this. In the meantime, go live your life. Like my good friend SK says, "Men don't value what they don't work for." You're preaching to the choir, sisterrrr!

Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.

Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.

Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that's not meant to be.

Slower is better.

*Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy. Jess: If you're not happy and satisfied alone, he's only gonna fool you into thinking your life is soooooo good..when really, it's towwwwwwww'd up. Recognizzzze!

*If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then no, you can't "be friends". A friend would NOT mistreat a friend.

Don't settle.

If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.

Don't stay because you think "it will get better." You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.

*The only person you can control in a relationship is you. Jess: Peace out if he isn't bring 110%. You're better off not having spent the time, energy, money, etc. Cut your losses and move on.

*Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women. He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently? Jess:Somehow, it worked for Droppin' Babies Britney, but who'd want to be in her shoes anyways?!?!

*Always have your own set of friends separate from his.

Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.

If something bothers you, speak up.

Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.

You cannot change a man's behavior.

Change comes from within. Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are... even if he has more education or in a better job.

Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.

Never let a man define who you are.

Never borrow someone else's man. If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.

A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.

*All men are NOT dogs. Jess: some are just clearly not attracted to you, are gay, are attracted to you but you aren't to them, have not appeared yet, have never been exposed to great women or had a great mother that would've taught them why women are wonderful and why they should be treated well. Vice versa though - All women are NOT b*tches. A lot of them are though.

*You need time to heal between relationships... there is nothing cute about baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship. Jess: Maybe YOU need to read this once again! Hello? One more time. Did you hear that? Yeah. One more time, YOU! You = too many people

*You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you... a relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals... look for someone complimentary...not supplementary. Jess: Think of the extra guacamole. The burrito tastes great without it, but even better with it once in a while!

*Make him miss you sometimes... when a man always know where you are, and you're always readily available to him - he takes it for granted.

*Never move into his mother's house. Jess: You are doomed if you decide to go move into his Mama's house.

Never co-sign for a man.

*Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need. Jess: If he doesn't give you what you need, you're going to b*tch about it later on so save yourself the energy. Let him know what you want and make sure he brings it. But vice versa too!

Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

*You should not be the one doing all the bending... compromise is a two way street. Jess: If he's not bending, you GOTS TO KICK HIM TO THE CURB.

But go out and love regardless...just make sure you're dumping $ into your own account bi-weekly the very least!

Keepin' The Faith for All of Us....
J

Sometimes I Wonder.....

Okay. I'm back in the Bay. Back as in.. I live here now. I pay my EXPENSIVE rent. I drive 23 miles to work 5 days a week. Not including the trip back. That I get to enjoy all the food in the Bay I never knew existed. Restart friendships that had been on hold. Finding another part of myself that I have yet to fully discover. As I've been back here for a lil over a month... a month and 5 days to be exact, a $350 Uhaul later, a $200 bedframe later, a $350 couch later, many trips to Bed Bath and Beyond later, trips to Target later, digging myself out of a small but larger April credit card bill, I'm a Norcal Gal. A couple inspirations along the road these past few weeks have got me thinking so here is my Sometimes I Wonder List.... enjoy.

Sometimes I wonder...
1. If Summer of Yes will take off for me this summer. It has started. So we'll see how it goes.
2. RTB's true mantra will be practiced in full force before I turn 25. RTB..risk taking behavior, for you newbies.
3. If traveling down the GOOD ROAD is always going to feel semi-lonely since most people have boned out and gone run down other roads.
4. If a girl can really have it all
5. Why 95% of us are programmed to self-sabotage much of the good we have in our lives. I'm guilty. I just haven't been guilty of it in a reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly long time, not that I've really had a chance to, or maybe it's the wrong "kind" of boys that even have the balls to approach.
6. If I'll learn the in's and out's of the Best of Food in SF in the way I know LA and how long it will take me to be In-The-Know.
7. Why cookware is sooo expensive. I know it's surgical grade stainless steel, but seriously!
8. Why Asians can't be equipped with the right enzyme to breakdown calcium. I've had enough nail splitting. I'm OVER it.
9. What stops true happiness from happening to people? Is it themselves? Fate? Life?
10. Why I've loved ALIAS so much over the past 5 seasons. Oh yes -2 words. Michael Vartan. I Lurrrrve you.
11. Why it's so hard for me to find a good, inexpensive back rub. Oh yes...I remember! No current bf to ask this from.
12. How much longer does a girl have to wait for a decent one to cross paths with.
13. If Bush really thinks his new Immigration plans are realllly gonna be a hit. Or is he kidding himself. We're fighting war. And he's fighting those that clean his toilet.
14. Why SAN TUNG chickens wings, their MUSHU PORK with homemade wrappers with a ice cold TSINGTAO helps me get over any sad feelings I ever have.
16. Why oyster shooters are SOOO GOOD and French Macarons from MIETTE Bakery @ the Ferry Bldg. in SF are SO damn good! (Shooters cannot be found @ Miette, mind you.)
15. Why you aren't here...now. You stands for my friends in LA who I miss dearly. Family members past and present. And the non-existant you who is out there that I haven't met but can't wait to meet.

Norcal, my love, how many miles will I drive around for you?

Alright, I left Los Angeles on Tuesday @ 111,000 miles and today is Thursday and I'm already @ 111,600 with $9 dollars in bridge toll receipts already with 3.5 days to go. There are still trips planned across the bay with St. Patties Friday in SF @ O'Reilly's in North Beach, sleepover @ Mell's, San Tung Chicken Wings andpartying at Medjool for Lance's Goodbye SF, Hello LA festivities on Sat Nite, seeing childhood friend Sandy on Sunday as well.

This "relaxing" week off in the Bay is much overdue - last relaxing vaycay was in November to see the Cactus Gang in AZ. This week will provide a glorious preview of life to come in the near future as big plans are pending and waiting to be solidified in the coming month. Everytime I venture up here I fall in love again with my baby, Norcal. Norcal is like that old love, maybe that first love that you can't help but want to revisit...then again love for me is a lil foreign at times, as those of you that know me best are very clear knowing. Maybe making a food comparison would be better? Norcal is like cookies'n'cream ice cream or red velvet cupcakes from Toast or butterfish from anywhere or blue crab handrolls from Echigo - so good, you wanna go back for another scoop, cupcake, slice, roll and then another. (Note to self: all the foods I listed are actually found in LA....I have a LOT to learn about the Bay, shame shame.)

There are many reason why the Bay is so great but I love my Socal as well....so don't yall worry out there - I love it all. I'm equal opportunity when there's good food =)

To recount some of the gastro-related delights is a must, so lemme get on with the play-by-play:
Tuesday night Ramen in San Mateo's 3rd St. Area - FORGETTTTABLEEEE
Tuesday night 2nd Dinner Stop in SF @ Zushi Puzzle(?)
I dragged Kat along with me to meet up with 3 fabulous girls of the old school 2651 Ellendale Place (our old apt when all of us went to SC) after ramen. It was incredible to see Mell, Amelia and Vicky all together - a mini reunion of sort. We did the usual talk shop at 110 mph, shooting off various topics at the same time yet understanding everything. I love it! Amelia, a med student in NY, was over in SF since her fiance was here for a conference - she just found out today she's be going for her residency at LA Children's Hospital.....we are all verrry happy for her since she'll be back on the West Coast once more!! Back to the dinner, we all discussed the game plan for Friday- St. Patties @ O'Reilly's and all the suspects that will be showing up to have fun, drink or be setup with Mell or myself. HAHAH. It was a hysterical discussion which I will save for those that were at the dinner on Tuesday.
Wednesday Lunch: GOOGLE CAMPUS LUNCH
Recap: Fraud Specialist Mell welcomed heffers Libbi, KittyKat and Jess to eat at not just ONE cafe on this huge campus but two. As Mell said, "Why deny ourselves?" A couple obstacles had to be conquered before food could be poured down to our bellies - the fun NDA forms we had to sign at the vistor's lobby. Only in Silicon Valley. While waiting for Mell we ooooogggled at the Snack Room - complete with espresso machine servin illy coffee, a million snack bins, health snacks, cereal and everything else under the sun. We Noted To Self: Ask Mell to ransack us some GOODIES before we leave.
First Cafe Stop: Pacific Cafe - serving slow-roasted trip-tip with maui onions, ox tail kim chee soup, ahi poke, seaweed salad, assorted boxed sushi, guava, and a pina coloda fountain - virgin of course. Oh, also a fully-stocked fridge filled with Asian and Hawaiian drinks - all the pass-o-guava for you til your bladder bursts in tropical delight! Oxtail kim chee soup was fab, ahi poke was lovely - all them chunks of fresh fish...mmmm....as we paced ourselves knowing we had other places to go, we checked out the scene -- lotsa intellectual folk, socializing, talking about logarithmic problems, server issues, etc. ---just kidding, I had know idea what they were talking about. Onto, stop 2.
2nd Cafe Stop: Charlie's Cafe -- I believe 5 ethnic cuisine bars - we picked chicken pesto pizza, pepper and goat cheese pizza, beef tenderloin, vegetarian chow fun, roasted chicken, broccoli and one double chocolate chip cookie. Faves? THE BEEF TENDERLOIN as did the CHOW FUN. Mell was sweet enough to tell us, "This is how everyone gets the GOOGLE -25." Google-25 you ask? Similar to the Freshman-15 you get in college, 25 is the avg. amount of weight you put on thanks to the organic, natural, yummy food that is cooked for you twice a day if you work @ Google. I believe her - the food is so good and diverse, how could people not eat it?!
While we noshed we checked out the HOT MEN of Google.....mmmm....I'll just say, I'm sure it was just an off day or all the hot ones already ate. Mell - if you're reading this, I'm sure all the Hot Ones were just shy that day cuz they knew we were gonna be there! But nonetheless, we love everything google so we appreciate all the folk that are hard at work each day and night to bring us great user-friendly products! So lotsalove for the Googstersssss...holllllaaaa!

Wednesday Dinner: Michael Mina @ the Westin St. Francis Hotel
Recap: OMG. Yes it was everything Libbi told me and more. Libbi has been chums with Chef Michael for a few months now and we've heard many many many times how she has been treated to such amazing gastrodelights at the Michael Mina restaurant. Since the sisters are such food whores, we've been waiting patiently for our at-bat. This trip was my at-bat and whatta grand slam it was! On each of these at -bats, there is a ritual preparation involved- we execute a time honored tradition, a ritual practiced by true female foodies! The name of our clandestine operation: Boobs for Food. What is Boobs for Food? It starts with a 6pm costume change (5:30pm in our case because we had to drive from Mtn. View to SF in traffic for a 7pm rezzies) in the office ladies room at your chosen 9-6 workplace, followed by opening your bag of tricks that you packed the morning of the event - we busted out Lib's curling iron, our makeup, junk in the trunk jeans and sophisticated boobie tops. Then it's all hands on deck with the pedal to the metal as you primp to the 9's . After that's all done, it's smooth sailing to livin' large at your choice feeding ground - ours happened to be Michael Mina. So, don't be jealous - we WORKED for our free foood. In a nutshell, please remember, the breasts that show up at any dinner do not only have to be those of the duck and free-range chicken persuasion. So, cockadoodle-doooo, BRING IT! =)

The dinner consisted of many glass of Krug champagne, Hanger One Vodka Tonics, caviar parfait, lobster risotto, black cod in consomme, kurobuta pork, a triple cheese plate and bonbons!!!! Yes, peoples, wipe that drool off your keyboard! Not to mention, the bill was taken care courtesy of one lovely chef. Thanks a million, MM!!!!!

Another highlight of dinner was meeting a family of men en route to the ladies room. Turns out, these gentlemen do exactly what I've been wanting to do for a longggtime - PR for food. The dad and his two sons (all looking young and to the 9's) have a PR firm for restaurants (fyi: Rivera PR) and it reminded me back to a conversation I had with my older sister last week about pursuing food PR together as sister's as a side venture. Of course, our conversation last week was wishful thinking yet this week I meet a family team involved in Restaurant PR.... meant to be? Possibly.

The Norcal trip continues and I will be back soon with more pictures and more stories for you to live vicariously through.

Lust often. Love Food Always.

The following are Memorable Quotes so far on this trip (they did not all come out of my kosher mouth):

"Straight-edged razored balls is required. Don't know what that is? Ask my ex-boyfriends."
"He looks better than you described."
"Let's call it Blue Balls Blogging when someone blog's with only a phrase like, 'I had the worst day.'" (In reference to bloggers who will only blog that and keep you waiting for more but more is not provided. i.e. no happy ending)

It's Been A While.. Bet You Haven't Heard That Before

Hey there, my loves....

Again, it's been a month since my last entry. This time, I blame the sabattical on too much fun and then getting sick for 2 weeks, so your deepest sympathetic feelings for me please! =)

Alright... let's get to the cheese......

For Single's Awareness Day.... the coolest single girls of SoCal+ cousin Alb, rallied it up here @ Chez Brockton for an evening of champagne, fresh-baked pizza with the secret crust, balsamic buttered vegetables, a lovely boursin cheese plate and key lime pie! Liz and Angie rallied up with 2 of the Chensies here and we popped a squat in the living room! After a long debate of what cheesey girlie flick to watch..... with forgoed a ROM-COM and went upstairs to watch OPRAH's episode of of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill....one of the best eps EVER! They are the cutest, so in love and give us so much hope! Maybe it was the champagne talking, but I think we were sober enough to love them LOTS! Liz, Cin and I are planning on goin to Tim and Faith's Soul 2 Soul 2 Concert this coming August if everything goes well! We can't wait! Above are a couple pics.

Single's Awareness Day... Just Around The Bend!

Another celebration is coming up... Valentine's Day! For some, it's the highlight of the year, for others, it's another commercial holiday meant to HIGHLIGHT the fact that some --mostly girls, are verry much single. For guys in relationships, they dread it - cuz it's more money for them to spend on "un---necessary tokens of affection" for their gf's/wives/etc. If you girls out there have one of those guys - drop them like AP Chem. Anyways, hahah, I figure I'm online checking out the goods I may send to some of my single friends for V-day and here are some cool things out there that might actually be helpful to anyone out there who is still GENUINELY looking for a great gift that they would LOVE to give to their gf's/bf's.

Leather Get-Lucky Dice - fun for her, even more fun for you

Frog Prince Chocolates - might as well start kissing the frogs so you can get to your prince, more efficiently! Pucker up!

Cute Jewelry Box - if you're too cheap to get her jewelry, get her a box to store all that non-jewelry you are giving her!

Leather I.D. Bracelet - brand her with the pet name you gave her, or her pet name for you, or princess, trophy wife, Mrs. Federline, Mrs. Pitt, Team Aniston, Team Jolie, ok, I'm getting carried away.

And I guess we'll pick something for the boys..something macho
Men's Deluxe Valet - for yall to throw your cell phone, ipod, change, keys, etc. on, and oh how beautiful it looks

Lastly, if you're out there and celebration S.A.D., remember, if someone's not going to spoil you, spoil yourself! Click'n'buy!

Greetings from Beautiful British Columbia....

Hello, from the rainy Northwest. Dad, Mom, brother Bee and I have traveled from California to beautiful Seattle and Vancouver. How beautiful? Well let's see, when we first arrived in the Seattle Airport, our Alamo Rent-a-car Rep told us that it's rained in Seattle for 26 consecutive days. Hmmm.. it's no wonder why the suicide rate is so high here - lack of sunlight makes no one happy. Anyways, on Thursday morning (after I had driven from LA - Hayward the previous evening after work) the 4 of us took a flight to Seattle, rented a full-size vehicle (we were suppose to have rented a Pontiac Grand Prix or similar... which turned out to be a Chevy Impala (woowoo!) but at the last second, some other customer had swiped the Impala from under our nose, so we got a SPACIOUS DODGE CARAVAN instead....for the price of a sedan... HOLLA @ THAT..>WoOOO WHoooOOO!) From Seattle we drove 3 hours to get to Vancouver. And here we are!

Today is Monday and I'll be headed back to Los Angeles in a few hours but what have I done here? Eat. Eat. Eat. Check out a couple sights, accompanied my family to see our parents' business partners not to mention, we've met many new friends along this trip.

LOLA: Lust Often..Love ALways. Or at least Love More.

As I jump on the wagon of New Year's Rez's, my biggest goal is to Lust more often and Love even more. Being as mellow-headed as I am, I'm equally mellow-hearted. No giant proclaimations of love, no acts of lovelorn stupidity, no desperate moments of begging for anything or anyone -- I'm a lady of few relationships, if any, and a lady of many great friends and travel'd moments.

Looking into the rear-view mirror or '05, I can't say it hasn't been an incredibly positive year. With a quick re-cap, I traveled internationally 2 times - going ot Thailand, Taiwan, London(just around the airport) and Italy. I went on a few mini-vaycay's to San Diego and Arizona while dragging along a few great friends, my lil brother bee graduated from high school(he's sooOoO grown-up!), lil sister Wei graduated from UCLA and we got to let her go explore the world of Italy on her own for 4 months(impresssive!!! I'm still amazed she came back alive), workwise - I got promoted 3 times in the course of 7 months, socially - I met many new friends though no loves of my life, months, weeks, or days. At least no loves/lusts that weren't already attached to somebody already!

So basically, the only thing more or less missing is me being more passionate about even more things in life and being more passionate about worlds I don't even know yet. I watched Mad Hot Ballroom last week with my family and boy was it a funny documentary of 5th grade New York students being part of a program (learning ballroom dancing) to keep their time/interests off of the streets. Seeing these cute kids learn how to dance and become so passionate and skilled at it made me want to start learning ballroom dance. So that's something I definitely would love to learn. There have been a few things here and there that I've wanted to do for a long time but because my schedule is a lil all over the place, I haven't had a chance. But this year - I promise you, I will learn a few more new activities/pasttimes/interests and I'll show the world a lil more love while doing that. As the great Brad Pitt says, "You make what you want happen." hehe.

OK, I've been gone. I didn't know I was sooo gone since SEPTEMBER!!!

Ok, fan club, my loyal readers, the readers who yell at me for not having blogged recently! I'm flattered! So flattered! But the entry below, really inspired me to get back into the blogging spirit since it was such a Weird situation. Anyways, plenty has happened since my last EUROPA post. The biggest highlights have been going to Arizona to celebrate dual bdays - mine and Eirck's. It was incredibly fun with 2 of my greatest friends flying in with Pat and I to go see Kat, Danny, b-day boy Erick and their homegrown entourage in Scottsdale!

I don't celebrate in big ways very often since my idea of fun is rounding up some close friends to grab good grub, drink a bit, eat lots, share embarassing stories and laugh hysterically til the cows come home. I'm not a big fan of going to $100 NYE parties, waiting in line, waiting in the cold, waitint to get in, spending too much money on alcohol I barely drink(by choice and by consumption capability), and watching a bunch of fools puke their brains out. rollin deep is sizes of more than 10 - especially in groups of 30 or more, etc. Show me a mellow club, bring my groupies and doode, we'll have the best time of our lives!

Arizona was a lil Yellow Fever party. 7 Chens + a Lam + a Abellera + a Beng! = 11 asians in all with a ton of other white friends (danny's). We all celebrated much of the weekend together and it was crazy. Lobstahs, scotch, bourbon, garlic knots drunk Nick consumed and totally forgot eating (he ate all of them before they got home), soapdropping in the bathtub, drunken lap dances by Erick for me, lotsa Bloody Mary's, NO Carding Azn's Nite @ Crowne Room *dannny is good friends with the bouncer* [FYI.. i went to az to celebrate a bday, and stupid me forgets her DRIVER LICENSE at home in LA], had to play pass the Driver License at a bar, spa treatments, homemade guacamole and brie/grape quesadillas...and lotsa griling. Overalll, a great way to spend a bday.

All you important people have seen all the pics so I won't show yall again.. if you haven't seen them yet, hollar at me and I'll send you the ofoto link. The other tripmates have them all posted on their blogs anyways!
Do You Stop Traffic Like I Do?

Today I was @ The Grove with Pat at Anthropologie.....we were by the door cuz Pat was talkin to her ex-manager and i finally met the ex-manager and the three of us were engaged in a deep lighthearted discussion about where all of us are originally from. As we're talking, this black dude (dressed pretty professionally, i.e. non-ghetto..actually had an ironed button-down and slacks, shaved head, late 20s early 30s, still not my type though, sorry) came over and said..
UscJessC: "sorry to interrupt your discussion but i just had to come over and talk to you ladies because you (points to me)...whew.. im so nervous just talking...you could stop traffic....i'd really like to give you my card, and if you'd like, please give me a call Skesser: what?!?!?!
Skesser: NO WAY
UscJessC: yeah
UscJessC: he wasnt my kinda cute or anything
Skesser: what an ego boostUscJessC: but dooode.. hahah..UscJessC: totallySkesser: that's rad
UscJessC: i felt like a million bucks
UscJessC: i wouldnt date him
UscJessC: but it was nice..
UscJessC: the manager went over and told another customer this story about me stopping traffic
UscJessC: hahha
Skesser: hahaha- what a great feeling!
UscJessC: it was weird
UscJessC: and i must say.. his aprroach about leaving his card totally saves him from rejection
Skesser: ya- totally
Skesser: ha! i can't believe he interrupted the convo!
Skesser: the black men loooove the jess

conclusion: i wont be calling, but if you're a doode, that's the approach you should go for.. DROP THE CARD....that way the girl can't reject you..she only has to take the card. If she calls, SCORE! ...if she doesn't... the card prolly got stuck in the the laundry and melted away in her pocket. Either way, it doesn't hurt to drop the "you could stop traffic" line..........GENUINELY, jack@$$e$!
