HEALTH INSURANCE: Confusion At Its Finest.

OK. So I've gone to see the doc more times in the past month and a half than I have in the previous 3 years. I figured it was time to get all the check-ups outta the way so I can move on with my life... and with holiday approaching quicker than quick for work, scheduling time off will be difficult to fix anything that needs to be fixed. So I've gone to the dentist, the girlie doc, the dermatologist, the optometrist and the oral surgeon.

What I have learned:
1. I got my 1st CAVITY EVER..and had it filled.
2. Ways to detect cancerous moles. F-A-T.... if its flat, asymetrical, and tri-colored, get it checked out asap.
3. Getting 4 wisdom teeth pulled out is a pain in the butt. HUGE HUGE pain. They knock you out in 90 seconds flat, you wake up thinking, "What happened, if anything?" til you realize you've got gauze in your mouth soaking up seeping blood from the HOLES in your mouth, your mouth is numb, and you can't eat regular food or brush your teeth the first day. You get some pain killers and antibiotics that make you drowsy and all you wanna do is sleep in bed for 3 days. But a side effect is that you lose a few pounds since you can barely eat!!!!!!!!!!! WAHH. But you can eat plenty of pudding, jello, ice cream, chicken broth, tomato soup, and smushed peas'n'carrots til you drop dead. I wish this whole recovery condition on no one.
4. The thought of someone trying to help me out while I recover never even crosses my mind. I'm too frickin independent..wtf?!?! Anyways, this is a whole other can of worms.
5. Reading all the Explanation of Benefits from your Health Care Provider is confusion as hell. Attempting to figure out what they owe, what you owe, if the mail they send you is a bill, why you're getting checks back from them, jesus, where are parents when you need them!?!? What ever happened to goin to Kaiser, paying 5 dollar co-pay and THAT'S IT. Oh, yes, maybe Dad got the statement. Of course.
6. The 15 dollar co-pay adds up.
7. It blows trying to go to a doc that's in-network as opposed to out-of-network..why not just all-network and call it a day.
8. It's time for me to pop some pills.
