I LEFT MY HEART in SAN FRANCISCO.

I took a brief but incredibly memorable trip back upnorth this past weekend and now I'm back in LA....feeling bittersweet. Is that what life is mean to be?

Let's first recap the trip.
Thursday afternoon, AFTER workin from 7am-4pm, Cin meets me @ my apt. so we can drive up north. After sittin in traffic for a good ---say 40 minutes, we're finally smoothe sailing upnorth on the 5 highway. We arrive at Mell's in Mountain View around 12 midnight in which my car smells like IN-n-Out from our pitstop in Kettlemen CIty. If you'd like to know, Cin scarfed down a hamburger and fries while jess inhaled a grilled cheese sandwich. Along the way the snacks we healthily consumed were a bag of Ritz Jalapeno Cheddar cracker sandwiches -- which Cin kindly selected @ the 76 gas station in LA when Jess told her to get, "Something exciting!" Exciting apparently = Jalapeno Cheddar cracker sandwiches. Who knew!?! Anyways, Cin also bought Sophisticated Trail MiX. I.E. no chocolate chips! Cin says they're bad for you so Jess pouted the entire ride upnorth. So FINALLY in MOUNTAIN VIEW, it takes us 5 minutes to find the entrance to Mell's apt. complex..

Once in, the whole complex is very pretty, and her 1-bedroom place is quite the bachelorette pad! Anyways, we hugged and reunionized after many months apart. The coolest part is that it was like time never passed... how amazing it is when we can reunite immediately feeling like it hadn't been a GAJILLION months since our last inperson visit.  Cin and I kept Mell up even though Mell had work the next day. We caught up, made jokes, yada yada. It was gggreat. Then I skiddadled my way home to sleep in bed.

Friday was spent doing absolutely nothing and it was absolutely nice. Errands and such till Dinner @ the restaurant with Ma and Pa! Apparently dad was dining with all of his USF Grad SChool friends that evening @ the restaurant! It was so cute to see how funny they all are together. After eating for 3 hours, one of the friends invites everyone back to his place, and my parents drag me, the only YOUNG person along. I was cool, I had a good time. So from 930pm-130pm, I HUNG OUT with thes 50-sumthing's as my dad consumed a WHOLE BAG of fresh AT-HOME ROASTED PEANUTS as well as all these other snacks the host prepared! Grapes! Oranges! Madelines! Pistachios! Chexmix! Tea! Chinese Red Wine! It was seriously another meal. Anyways, again I hope in 30 years my college friends and I can be like that too. Be 50 and talk about chinese jokes, how people from China have so much cash on hand that as long as they're coming to America - house prices will never drop and that there will be a Chinese president in the future. To that - I say, are you shureeeee???????  It was funny though.

Sat. morning I brunched with my childhood friend Sandy. Visited her new place in Plesanton and the place is aweeeeeeesome and soooo cute! She got me this cute MAE tshirt and I got her a navy satin Clutch! I have since attempted to "destroy" the tshirt but i may have cut it a lil short so my fat handles may make an appearance in your neighborhood sooon. =) Brunch was sooo good @ Kathy's Korner in San Ramon and I met her pal's Dorothy and Jackie..who both went to Berkeley and who I later find out - my other friend knew from college. I missssssssssss Sandy - is the nutshell of the morning.

Quickly following brunch i had to take mom to go have LUNCH @ Banyan Gardens in Union City. Sooo much food I wanted to explode. It was cute eating with Mom's and the manager there loves us so we sat and talked to him and he decided to comp our meal. He's sooo sweet! If you ever go, say hello to Richie!

Sat. afternoon is when all the great festivities started! Met everyone for Mell's bday dinner in SF @ SAM TUNG's in the Sunset District for the best Chicken Wings in town! SOOO GOOD I vow to visit that place every time I go home. Someone must have a bday, rehearsal dinner, wedding banquet there just so I can eat the wings!!! It was SOOOOO SWWWEEET seeing alll my friends I haven't seen in ages, there were 12 of us @ dinner and we couldnt stop talking. WE ordered soo much food, drank soo much tsingtao beer, and inside I was just appreciating how good I have it too be in the company of these wonderful people.

Next stop after dinner was gettin ready @ Wendy's. Wendy was kind enough to provide a great location for us to get ready/preparty @. Annette brought tons of champagne from work, and about 8 of us primped. It was soo fun being girls, showing off cute undies, cute tops, cute make up, cute hair. Takin a bajillion pics and drinkin up. This is the life.

We then proceeded to take a taxi to HOLY COW ---total dive bar that was very much fun.  Drank up the $3 dollar SOTB well drinks, and proceeded to watch EVERYONE get wasted and pukey --except Shirley and me. We rock! The girls dranks tons, the music was typical white music.. aka "girls just wanna have fun" some hip hop, more white music like GJWHF, and I basically spent the evening talkin to Mell's friend Specker  who is very much cute and sweet.  Mell was pukey and into the car by 1130pm, and the rest of us girls followed suit by 12am. WE are OLD and LAME. hehehehe...

Once back @ pre-party HQ, Annette and Mell continued worship porcelein god 1 and 2 while Sober Sally's Shirley and Jess made ramen for everyone.  Everyone passed out for a bit by 2, Mell peeled herself away from toilet by 230, and few of us were up till 3am till everyone passed the F out. So concludes, Mell's 23rd Bday. hehehhe.

Ok. Im tired. I'll continue later. I promise. =)

I MISS.....

As I sit infront of my crappy lil short desk, typing away, downloading away, watching American Idol (forgive me, for I have sinned), I catch up on Mell's blog --- and realize how much I miss her and I feel special that I'm still mentioned in her entries. For these evoked feelings, today's entry is written in remembrance of everything I miss in my life.

I Miss....
Mell: Where is my life without Mell? Still going well but a life without my Mell around everyday, isn't as sarcastic, humorous, generous, industrial systemish as it could potentially be at the most "optimized level of efficiency." I read her blog and all I have to say is: I appreciate you hun and miss you miss you miss you!!!! To not be able to hit the town with you and "the gurls", drink homemade apple martinis, eating your mom's taiwanese food, hearing you tell me you want to suffocate me, doin' make-up in the bathroom,
is truly an unfullfilling life!
Seeing My College Friends Everyday: How I miss the days of seeing at least twenty smiling familiar faces on campus or around the apt. complex of those near n dear deltas who are always interested in how you are doing. Watching sobfest dramas such as Up Close and Personal with Mell, Julia and Maribeth. Such LAME-O's we were. Eating apples with knives. Drooling as we watch Alias. Bitchin over chores. Who's doing the dishes?!?! Who's takin out the trash!?!? "Not until after my final in 4 days." Thanx, Mell. hahha.
Being Addicted to Movies: I'm more so addicted to TV watching of certain shows than movies. SHocking. I know. What happened? I don't even know. TOo many crappy movies? Maybe. Or maybe I don't have the time and those CONSISTENT always there Deltas I could always call up to go to the cinemas with. Wahhh!
Real Chinese FOood: Living on the westside equals ZERO good chinese food. I miss the food from back home. =(
Snuggling: Do i realllly have to explain?!?
Parents Footing the Bill: again..do i really have to explain?!?!
Being a Kid: To not have to worry, to think so much, to have to be responsible. Sometimes I think I grew up too quick for my own good. Could've made more mistakes in life, could've cared less about things, situations, people. Maybe I wouldn't feel like I carry a big part of my world on my shoulders. But at the end of the day, that wouldn't be Jess. That wouldn't be me. Am I too independent for my own good? Have I been tooo "good" for my own good? Who wouldn't thought that huh?

Yay to new Blogger Interface!!

It's been tooo long.....again.

Ok. Again I have failed to update this blog regularly. I'll get over apologizing now and just update it ... or not. O

k, I can't even remember when I did this last, but in a nutshell... I've been promoted to J.CREW Santa Monica as a Manager-in-Training. Do I love my job? Very much. The atomosphere rocks, the area is relaxed..... besides the smell of the interlopers on the Promenade..if you know what I mean. The smell of the 3rd St. Dwellers is so BRISK, STRONG, INTENSE, we have some flies that like to kick it infront of our main doors. NOT COOL.

Couple nites ago Skess, Susie and I went out for much needed Margarita's on a rare Alias-free Sunday nite. No new ALIAS makes jess want to go out. Ok, so we went to this place we've never been called LULA in Santa Monica, on cute Main Street. Everyone should go to anything on this street as Main St. has a lot of shops, restaurants, bars, coffee houses, etc. Anyways, Lula is a Mexican joint that serves what some people consider, "The Best Margaritas in Town!" We weren't dissapointed as they were strong and deeelish. After ordering margaritas and while PULVERIZING the tortilla chips'n'salsa, we gabbed about every important and non-important to us. The whole conversation was near and dear to me and truly made me realize, again, why great girl friends are the best things EVER. We each have our busy ol life to live, but when we get the chance to get together, life is reaaaaaaaaaaallly great. The food was great and we'll definitely be back.

Hasta Luego for now. My mind is blank.

A REASON TO CHANGE?

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
That's why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you
HOOBASTANK "A Reason"

Alrighty peeps. It's a Monday evening. I'm tired from waking up @ 6:30 for work @ 7 am today. It's only 8:12 Pm and I'm ready to hit the hay... but not without first REALLLLY listening to a song recommendation courtesy of new acquaint./friend Spencer.... HOOBASTANK's "A REASON". If you don't know the song, I highly recommend you to go "find" it. By "find" it, I don't ENCOURAGE DL'ing it.... I REPEAT, I do not encourage! Anyways, great song as I finally take the time to actually listen to the lyrics. The lyrics struck a nerve ---- that is why I pasted a snipit of the lyrics @ the start of this entry. Ok. So tell me, are there really guys out there that can actually say they care to change, that they WANT to change... not for you..but for themselves? FAT CHANCE? WHEN PIGS FLY? WHEN SHAMU WALKS? WHEN FROGS EAT CAKE?
Nonetheless, A+ for effort to Hoobastank for writing such luscious lyrics...very sweet, endearing, touching. Honestly. Now if we ladies could get men to really admit that and change their hideously idiotic mannerisms, life would just be peachy. Not to say boys aren't great, but many boys aren't the sharpest tool in the shed. Comparable to rocks? A few eggs short of a dozen? Maybe it's the fact that they aren't "emotionally available" enough? Things to ponder.

Onto greener pastures, who has something to say about lack of good television on Monday nights? Monday nights haven't been good in years. I can't even name one show beyond Fear Factor. I am stumped. Tuesday night television is good though.... we have Rory and Loralai entertaining us on GILMORE GIRLS on the WB..bursting with funny quips...followed by ONE TRUE HILL...quality television it is not, but OTH is better than any Monday night tv. And anyways, Chad Michael Murray is quite the looker. But again, the nite to live for is SUNDAY's ALIAS. If you know me, you have either A.) been transformed into an ALIAS fanatic through my individual screenings of Alias Season 1: Pilot on DVD in my Entertainment "Living" Room featuring Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound ...and have since BORROWED my complete 2 Seasons on DVD as well as current Season 3 on videotape or B.) heard from me why this is quality programming. Oh, and of course, WED. nite Newlyweds and THURS. The Apprentice. And that concludes the tv I watch, BESIDES CNN and LA's Immature Lousy Carchase Show called "NEWS".

Ok, and anyone keeping up with the Taiwan Elections? Utter chaos. Corrupt govt. Recount. Protests. The President being the victim of an attempted assasination the day before the election therby gaining sympathy votes. WTF!?!?! is my reaction. Ok. Nothing more to say except, have a good day.

OK. Another REVIVAL. The Passion of Jess will now be debuting @ a website near you! Anyways, I have been "away" for awhile, forgetting to update good ol' blogger-----Anything Less, Wouldn't Be Jess. Now onto more important matters.

Since last posting in freakin SEPTEMBER, it is now borderline MARCH. Let's name off a few important benchmark time-passers.
1. ALIAS - we are already on Episode 14. Best show on earth, though season 3 has not been up to Season' 2 LEVEL of GREATEST SHOW ON TELEVISION!!!! Syd and Vaughn are finally expressing their feelings, and syd is kickin' ass in the SPY WORLD as she should...and MICHAEL VARTAN is again, the hottest breathing mammal EVER. haha.
2. GOIN TO TAIWAN--- this Sunday for two weeks. First BIG vacation in years. I'm surprised work let me take these many days off. Hopefully by the time I get back, I'll get..... we'll continue this THING Sat. evening, maybe I'll know the finalilites. Anyways, goin to the Motherland to see my Gramps, Grams, Cousins, Aunts, UNcles, nieces, etc. etc. Walk with Grams to the open market each morning, helping her cook, taking Gramps for walks, basically....being good grandchildren. And of course, being given the THIRD DEGREE by my youngest aunt, who REFUSES to believe that all of the Chen Girls, i.e. My two sisters and myself, don't have boyfriends. Should I be surprised that my aunt gives us the THIRD DEGREE about BF's? Maybe not, cuz sometimes I do wonder, why the hell don't we have a nice, sweet dish by our sides? And trust me, this is not me thinkin' we're ALLL THAT. We're just good decent looking people with good hearts and good personalities. What's the problem?!

In a nutshell, I can definitely expect EVERYONE to ask if either of us have BFs, so does anyone want to help me brainstorm believable reasons why that is? Then they will ask what we are doing with our lives. Then they will ask us when we are going to get married. Then they will tell us how crappy our Chinese has gotten. And maybe, they will decide to give me an arranged marriage and introduce me to a nice FOBBY boy. Blech.

3. NEW RESTAURANTS --- for you to try out. TOAST -$- on 3rd st. between La Cienega and Fairfax. GO for BRUNCH and LUNCH. What's good? EVERYTHING on their b-fast menu. B-fast quesadilla, the pasta, SHakshuka, 3 eggs special, and ALWAYS go for their side choice of FRUIT SALAD. It's sooo good - fresh berries, kiwi, mango, pineapple, melons. Best in town! Don't leave without trying their Banana Pudding with Nila Wafers. To die For! TIPS: ON weekends, arrive by 10 if you want a short wait. If arriving later, expect 20-35 min. wait. Salads and sandwiches are great too! Fast service!
JOE's -$$$- in Venice on Abbot Kinney. Try their Price Fix Specials, otherwise, great tuna tartare, foiegras, peach cheesecake thingy. Great ambience, definitely pricey, save for special occays. Make Rezzies. NAPA VALLEY GRILLE - $$- Westwood. great Lavender Duck, Grain Mustard Pork CHop, Seafood Risotto, and Lamb. Cute ambiance. BANDERA - $$- Wilshire and Barrington. omg. I just went here yesterday for the 6th, 7th time? YUM. Start of with their Bread Platter for a buck-fitty..or DEFINITELY go for their HOME SMOKED SALMON PLATTER for $13. SOOO GOOD. Toasted thin white bread with a generous serving of smoked salmon with a herb spread. Drinks: Nick got the bourbon, but that's NOT my cup of tea. Try the CInnabar red wine for $7. Generous glass. Onto the FOOD! The LEg of Lamb is delish, as well as their Beef Tenderloin and Spinach/CHicken Enchilada Platter with Escobece (southwestern vegetable salad with lime, cilantro and champagne vinagrette) and rice. HELLA GOOD. Their CHeeseburger is hella good too. For dessert... homemade oreo ice cream sandwiches. YUM. Drinks. Appetizer. Entree. ~ $30/person. Jazz piano/guiatar/bass group plays on most evenings.

OK. All this talk about food is making me hungry. DInner rezzies @ GYUKAKU - japanese-korean yakiniku bbq on PICO. It's great tooooo! Grill your own meat without leaving smelling like it!!!

Bon appetit! Live, love, eat.

Damn I've Been Gone For A While.

Ok. Here I go again. Another Jess Revival. Only hopes is that I check-in with blog more often from now on. Reason for lack of "bloggin'" in recent months is because nothing really BIG has actually happened. It's been rather hum-drum, uneventful, a life needing a jolt of sumpin' sumpin'. What that could be... I dunno. Just a good sign needs to be sent to me for me to feel like everything I'm doin' is going fruitfully according to some higher plan/agenda/work-in-progress, called, Jess' Glorious Life.

So, in a nutshell, I'll just B-line through some cool stuff of the past summer.

ABC PRIMETIME WEEKEND @ California Adventure
Who: Tin and I, and a buncha ALIAS FREAKS we don't know.
When: Beginning of Aug.
Where: Calif. Adventure
Why: To See the Stars of our favorite TV show, ALIAS. If you haven't been watching, there's no time like NOW. Season premiere, Sun. 9 pm. ABC. Stars i.e. Jennifer Garner, Michael Vartan. HOT HOT HOT.
What Happened: Cast did a Q&A with Fans, it was fantastic, then there was a parade.
Highlights: HIGHS: Seeing Garner and Vartan.. in PERSON.
LOWS: Riding California Screamin' --the only upsidedown ride, that was considerably weak, and becoming NAUSEOUS afterwards. Tin had to go to the First Aid Hut and get my Ibruprofen and water, and I was NOSH for 2 hours, I threw up, it was horrrrible. But I was all better by Q&A time. NOTE TO SELF and OTHERS: NO MORE ROLLER COASTER RIDES for JESS, NEVER INVITE ME TO GO, I WILL BE POOR COMPANY, I WILL MAKE YOUR DAY SHITTY. Thanks, Tin, for taking care of me. =) heheh.
PARTING NOTE: Garner is soo cute and great, VARTAN is SOOO HOT and awesome, ALIAS is the one show you aren't watching, but need to start. Season 1 is out on DVD, go get it, rent it, watch it. I've already converted my two sisters into BIG BIG Alias FANS!

ALIAS SEASON 1 DVD: It's great. Best commentary, great bonus features. And I ask again, WHY AREN'T You WATCHING?

COOKING: I LOVE TO COOK. I LOVE to COOK. I WANT COOKING APPLIANCES. If you ever want to get me a gift I will like, THINK KITCHEN, or think MOVIES, or think ALIAS.

JOB HUNT: STILL GOING. STILL GOING. Sending those resumes. Goin' to interviews. Waiting for callbacks. I can't stand places that don't call you back even if you don't get the job. I don't care if I didn't get the job, at least call and tell me, and lemme know what I can do to make myself a better sell. The right job will come around, so, DOOODE, just lemme know why I didn't get the job. No hard feelings, buddy.

NEW APT: It's great. So everyone come visit.

J.CREW: I'm a Client Specialist now, so if you'd like to be added to my Client Book, lemme know. =) Come to J.CREW @ the grove for SUPER CUSTOMER SERVICe. Clothes with a SMILE. Visit http://www.jcrew.com and see the newest stuff from our Fall collection.

I can't think of anything more at the moment. Get back to you later. Adios!

OK. WELCOME BACK, ME, AGAIN. PART DEUX.

Ok. I can't even remember if a lot of things have been happening recently. The most important issue I have been concerned about has been finding a job/career. Currently, I'm still a lovely J.CREW Associate which has been great cuz I love the people I work with and love customer service, and I think I might even have a knack @ retail somewhere down the line. Yes, you heard it here first. But I just got a call from 20th Century Fox Tv Publicity and I have an interview MOnday. Fingers crossed. I guess this entry will be made up of random thoughts and recounting memories of the past couple of weeks.

MELL's GOING AWAY *BOW CHICKA-BOW-WOW* POW WOW: consisting of LOTSA friends, deltas, boys, and alcohol. Dinner was @ Miyagi's and it was great seeing and yappin with everyone that came. Drinks flowed right from the get-go with Mell tippin back a nice, refreshing LONG ISLAND!! Those in attendence, Mell, Mao, Jen Ito, Vanessa, Annette. Jessica, Caroline, Everly, Angie, Angie's Bf Ryan without the B, Cindy and Cin's Bf Jamie, Master P "Matt", Merlo, Eric, Joe, Seung, and Jin, Lance and Frances, and I forgetting anyone?! Anyways, drinks flowed thanks to the generous boys who kindly offered us beverages, Caroline even hit on the Frenchie bartender in which she swapped her number for free drinks. Caroline, caroline, always knows how to take one for the team. FYI: Frenchie called her up a couple days later for a date. hahah. Miyagi's, surprisingly, plays great music videos. Alotta alternative rock, such as COldplay, Chevelle, Bush, NO Doubt, in which we decided to sing half the songs, and do cool 80's dance moves. Well me and Matt decided to Robot and Worm around in a pair, it was awesome. I'm VERY impressed that Matt, of all nerds and dorks, can DANCE!! He can actually punk-move. Talk about never judgin a book by its cover! (No offense Matt, love you, you know that!)

Anyways, we were there for a while, drinkin' sake bombs, tequila puffs, *unmentionable* named drinks, yeah. Nuff bout liquids. Next off it was DUBLINS, but DUBLINS does not have a dance floor anymore to our surprised so we left ASAP, but not before Caroline decided to get into a lil argument with one of the Dublin guys. ANyways, Matt decided to piss off the bouncers by wearing his "DORK" cap to the side and tellin the bouncers that the place sucked ass, so bouncers were like, "if he tries to come back in, don't let him."

After DUB's, it was off to SADDLEBAGS, i mean, SADDLE RANCH, aka SAUNA. TOo many people. Too little rooom. Crowd was crappy. And yeah, Too many people giving off too much sweat and heat, so needless to say, our entourage BOUNCED. NEXT STOP: The Standard on Sunset.

The Standard: was great, strongggg drinks, good lookin crowd, great ambiance. Yeah. Till Caroline decided to walk into the kitchen with a drink and chuck the glass on a table full of glasses and piss off the kitchen staff. But this is after she pee's on these steps cuz the line was too line for the b-room. Annette, thanks for watching out for her. Caroline seriously makes any outting, a MEMORABLE one. Time to roll out, as we head to... NAKWON in K-TOWN.

Drinking + Late Nite = Trip to K-town for Kalbi Tang. Short Rib Soup, for you white folk. SO we go, and drink our hangover healer. And the nite concludes. THanks for the memories. It was fun. Thanks to Matt for generously driving my car so we couldn't be sober.

SUNDAY: BRUNCH with THE GURLS @ PEDALS CAFE @ SHUTTERS @ THE BEACH HOTEL, Santa monica.
BEAUTIFUL PLACE, DAY, COMPANY, EVERYTHING! We sat on the patio, as this was an early Birfday Brunch for dear CINDY's 22nd BDAY. Which is today! SO everyone say HAPPY BDAY to cin! 7/10! This place is so pretty, and I'd recommend anyone to go have brunch here. We all tried something different almost, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Raisin Brioche French Toast, Roasted Salmon with Garlicky Potatoes and Buttered Green Beans, Eggs Benedict, and Chicken CLub Sandwich. ALL were magnificent!! I was drooling at all the food, as Mell pointed out, I especially went into fulll DROOL mode when I saw and tasted The Chicken CLUB. SOOOOOOOO YUM. Anyways, Cin got some of her bday gifts, including the KETTLE she's been dying to get. It was great. Just Fabulous. Mell and Annette are moving upnorth this week, and it's damn sad I tell yall. The gurls are finally seperating and Jess is getting weepy. WAHHHH!!!!

As for other highlights of the week, COOKING has been a big deal.
Monday Lunch: Turkey Sandwiches on rustic french bread: ---> Sliced fresh French Bread from La Brea Bakery toasted in the oven, with a bit of dijon spread, warm deli-thin turkey and ham with a sprinkle of melted cheddar, sliced avocado, arugala and tomato.
Night: Seared Lime-Cilantro Steak on a bed of Lime-Drenched Spinach and Arugala with sweet corn , cherry tomatoes and avocado, drizzled with a Honey Peppercorn Dijon dressing. In addition, a lovely Pan-roasted Red Trout in a tomato and spinach reduction. "Dinner was amazing!" -- Nick Yay! Alb made some delish pasta as well!

Wed Lunch: Seared Steak Sandwich with Fresh Guacamole Spread on French Toast Bread. It was good. I won't go into details and you aint gonna hear any complaints for my customers (aka, my sisters)
Wed Dinner: Red Pepper Ground Turkey Penne Pasta with fresh mushrooms and caramalized onions in a tomato garlic basil sauce. "Your pasta was soooooo good, Jess." --Guest

OK. Today is also Kat's bday. So everyone wish her a happy 23rd bday too!!! We're having dinner @ CYNTHIA's, this restaurant on 3rd st. Apparently she, the owner, aka Cynthia, is kinda mean sometimes to guests, but everyone loves the food so they don't give a crap!! Supposedly her COBBLER is to DIE FOR. SO it should be a wonderful evening!

As for this weekend, the Chen Gurls are cruisin up north to celebrate Kat's 23rd Norcal STyle. Dinner @ THE HOUSE, The dynasty clubbin the night away, Tea with the family on Saturday, and if Wei can find someone on ebay to sell her John Mayer tickets for Sunday, that'll be what's going down. IN the meantime, I hope I haven't bored my fellow blog readers to death. I hope this was worth a second of your time today. Yeah. Life outside of work, is a blast. Have a great day!!!! See you sooooon!!!

Mp3 Bumpin: Macy Gray - Speechless, off her new album 7/15/2003

Sure do like the way it's going down with you, we could be
Together for years, and I'm ready to make that move cross
That line, we could put some joy in each other's tears.
l.o.v.e. don't sum it up for me it's much m.o.r.e. than any
world could mean.

Baby aaaaah 'cause it's going down - make me sing lala when
You come around - make me say ooooh weee when u look at
Me - baby aaaaaah 'cause it's going down and I'm speechless.

Practicing all day what to say to you, but it never seems to
Come out right, just to know the feeling is so perfect for me and
You and I want to feel it for the rest of my life. l.o.v.e.
Don't sum it up for me it's much m.o.r.e. than any word
Could mean.

Baby aaaaah 'cause it's going down - make me sing lala when
You come around - make me say ooooh weee when u look at
Me - baby aaaaaah 'cause it's going down and I'm speechless.

O it's fur sure, there is love then there is something more.
I'm hoping the music can express what I feel when you caress -
Do you hear it when I scream your name when we're laying?

Sure do like the way it's going down with you we could be
Together for years

Go DL it. I love it. it's the jam. How'd I find it? ALIAS baby.
GOOD FOOD. GOOD FRIENDS. GOOD TIMES. LIFE IS GOOD.

Ok. So yesterday I threw a Sex And The City Premiere Launch Party Cocktail Dinner Party BASH! It was off the heeezee with plenty of good food, good friends, good times, good alcohol, and good everything. I spent all afternoon whippin' up Shrimp Avocado Seviche, which was the RAVE of the evening that got polished off before everyone arrived, Chicken, Potato, Butter Lettuce Salad with Honey Dijon Peppercorn Dressing, Miso-Glazed Salmon, FLatbread with Tomato Basil Hummus and the entourage brought Mango Salsa, Spring Rolls, Fresh Baked Cookies, breads, mango pudding, chocolate dipped strawberries, alkohol, dammn am I forgetting anything?!

Anyways, drinks flowed all evening with Lime MoJitos, Lychee Martinis, Wine, and coolers. Great conversation, mixing it up with mtg. new people, and yeah. It was great.

It's times like these that a big part of me lives for. I love to cook. Host lil shindigs. Seeing everyone getting along and catching up. I love my life.

It's Been A While

Ok. It's been a while and much has changed. For the better. I do believe so. I have finally moved in comfortably into my new home in West LA. The CON of all of this: the water heater sucks more ass than I don't even know what. It's lukewarm showers 24/7. Time to call the landlord and demand HOT WATER if we're payin this much rent. Ok. Moving on. =)

Last nite a lotta us went barhoppin in HERMOSA BEACH. If you've never been, u need to go. ASAP with a 9-1-1 quickness. Lemme tell ya, goin here is by far one of my favorite places to go. We always hit up Patty Malloys. Who's we for last nite? My sisters, mell, wendy, mei, mei's bf phong, lance (who left before we even got in.. PARTY FOUL), vanessa, adrienne, gertrude, gauvin, robb, daniel and more and more. We waited outside for seriously, over an hour, but finally got in and started partyin the nite away to *drumrolll* booty music as usual. I think our circle of girls mesmerized the white folk and the guys that tried to join the circle, did not succeed. Shot down left and right. Sorry guys! But anyways, we celebrated Mei's graduation, @ this time, she will have already received her diploma. Congrats, Mei! The music was ecclectic.. so ecclectic that we salsa'd, cha-cha-cha'd, and even country danced hahah. Highlights: imaginary lasso, imaginary fish hook, electric slide, imaginary wash the windows as we cha-cha-cha! And of course, West Side Story moves.... again. And Lance, if you're reading this, we did do a dance homage to you... we Karate-Chopped and Body-Rolled insync.. in honor of our fellow Team Madison teamster who had to leave early. You were missed dearly.

Anyways, Jess is on the job hunt, and it's goin pretty good. I'll keep the world posted with further developments.

Ok, I'm tired. Nap-a-roo time. Nite Nite.

GRADUATION: THE END OF AN ERA

The CHEN FAMILY

The cousins

4 wonderful years concluded yesterday. Officially, officially, @ the end of June when I finish one more summer school class. Yesterday was a big big day not only because it was my graduation, but it marked the first time the Chen Family was physically together in over 20 months. 20 months! Almost 2 years! I hadn't seen my mom in 19 months! My cousins Albert and Liberty also came to the festivities and I was very happy we were all together to celebrate this event. Lining up before the main ceremony @ 8 am was nostalgic. I lined up with Mell, Grace,Cin, Annette, Amy, Annie, and the guys, in the BIOLOGY line, all so we could sit together....near the front. We took a gazillion pictures in line and all these memories came flying back in my head:I had met these particular friends the 1st week of school 4 years ago.... most of them at rush or in my dorm room. The different ways we all met, how we met, where we met, why we met come together to form a fascinating story and saga for our lives.

Mell: I met in line during APASS Orientation, and she was also in my Group, and it was then that she decided she wasn't gonna like me cuz I said I came to SC cuz I didn't get into UCLA.
Grace: she lived 3 doors down from me in the North Residential Dorms.
Cin: while gathering outside of EVK before a Rush event, I found out she was from Metairre, Louisiana and that she was friends with our mutual friend, Yvonne.
Annette, Annie, Amy: Either @ APASS Orientation or @ our 1st Pledge Meeting to elect our cabinet. Annette and her broken sandal from Macys. She was so pissed about it.

From those lil moments, incredible friendships have been built over the course of 4 years with many memories to come. Ahh, I thank these wonderful people for letting me be part of their lives, and them being a part of mine. The times for Tea, Dinner, Shopping, Brunch, prepping for Xmas Dinner, 7-hour Jell-o, Seung's Tan 4-Runner that we managed to pawn from him to let us use, pledging, dp-ing, X-mas Dinner I have to mention again, Cin's mad case of stubborness, Drunken Dialing, past/present bf's, UV, Elegance, the list continues forever. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. xoxo.

The ceremonies themselves were wonderful as the tuition money we've paid has paid off into a wonderful greek food reception, a big white nice tent to have our ceremony under, newly planted flower beds all over campus, and just a beautiful campus in general. The speeches, the presidential address, everything. Thanks mom and dad for paying my valued tuition of $120,000 (thank god for financial aid), thank you to my siblings for taking this journey with me, the friends who have made the past 4 years the best 4 years of my life, and I thank myself, for choosing to come to SC, and for letting the past 4 years unfold in the most amazing way. I am truly truly truly blessed. Full steam ahead into the next chapter of the wonderful life of Jess. You with me?

Personal Mantra: "Anything less, wouldn't be Jess." [thanks Cin, for helping me come up with this! You are truly amazing, just like I told you today.]

definition: I really do strive to be good, to be great, to give everyone the best of me. So never ever doubt that. Not that you ever shoulda. I dont' give anyone less than the best. Ya hear?

First off, I spent a wonderful day with Cin today. Selling back books. Paying off library fines. Buying Dayquil @ UV. Eating @ Panchos @ UV. And just talking. Seeing her sooOoooo in LuuuurrrrrVe with her bf Jamie, knowing how happy he makes her, and how happy she makes him, makes my day. There's not enough lovin' going on in the world, so I'm glad she's having a great big vat of it. I love seeing people so happy and knowing her, makes me believe that there really could me someone out there for muah. hahha. I'm so grateful to have a friend like Cin and I hope everyone has someone like her. Cin..thanks for listening to me about my life and everything that goes on with it today, I truly appreciate your company and your listening ear....even though I'm still goin hold youre "stubborness pledge year" over your heard....for foreverrrrrrrrrrr.

On that note, thank you to my big sister Kat aka "dajie, kath" for writing me a superb dedication to me today....sharing one of the rare "emotionally revealing touchy-feely" moments in the Chen family. And so it is my turn, for one of my ONE in a MILLION moments of sharing a piece of my heart.

Four blazin' years have gone by and you've been my soundingboard to whom I share and told some of the best moments of the past four years to. How wonderful deltas have been in my life, how i've gone on and on about how I love my friends at SC and SC, how I have loved my jobs and internships, how I've loved everything I've had the chance to get my paws on. I only hope that you have and will experience all of these wonderful feelings and people in your life. I'm happy to have been able to share some of the most important parts of my life in the past four years with you....i.e. mell, all the deltas, skess, tin, newline, j.crew, movies, my love for g.clooney and michael vartan, alias, gossip, cool industry perks, movie screenings, and whatever connections I have. Thank you for the Laker and Kings games, for letting me borrow your car pledge year cuz I know how hard it was for you to even think about lettin me borrow your car, and most of all, for being understanding about my commitment, dedication, loyalty to everything I am invovled with: deltas, work, and school, for those times I had to bail/couldn't play with you and wei and other important people in our lives. Though I have shared this much, there's still a ways to go, way more depth to achieve.

since we'll be living together soon, I'm sure that will bring our r-ship to another sisterly level, that I'm slightly dreading, because with sisters, no courtesy is reallly neccessary re: dirty dishes, and whatever else. I look forward to one bill for dad to pay for the apt, and to more laughs others will have of watching the Chen Gurls in-the-flesh...in person is what I mean. Interacting on a daily basis. And providing entertainment for all the world to see. Hi, wei! Had to get you in there somewhere. And i guess, with the Chen Gurls together, we can now go on the hunt, for 3 great {BLANK} Boys to go with the 3 Chen Girls.i.e. let's find 3 great bf's, for 3 great gurls. xoxo --- your sis, Chi
OUR ANTHEM..........
[For all the awesome sexy single gurls in the world to know...
and ...
For all the BONEHEAD guys out there who need to wake up, read that, and realize, go for the TOP. ASSHOLES.Oops, did that just slip out?]
---stolen from mell..from annette...from someone else.

Women are like apples on trees.
The best ones are at the top of the tree.
The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt.
Instead, they just get the rotten apples
from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy.
So, sometimes the apples at the top think something is wrong with them,
when in reality, THEY'RE amazing.
They just have to wait for the right man to come along,
the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the trees.

HALLELUJAH. WORD to the WISE. Hollaback.

Full Circle: A Decade Later...The EuroCrew is Still Chums

mission: Then Chen Gurls. The Cheng Duo. and Ben "Ming Ming" Foo. All of our
parents have been friends since forever. They all grew up together/and or worked or lived together before any of us were ever born. And their kids, aka "The Chen Gurls, Cheng Duo, and Ben", have all become friends thanks to one lovely EASTERN EUROPE motorcoach trip in the summer of 1993. A decade ago. European memories of a haunted hotel in Baden, a mission to find a SWIMMING POOL in each hotel we stayed at, throwing trash, popcorn, bottled water, and whatever food in the hotel room, out our hotel room window in VENICE cuz we thought it would be cool, eating too many potato balls, having a molester tour guide named steve, never sleeping, riping out the interior of this plane that ELVIS apparently flew on, many memories were made. It's been 8-10 years since we've all seen each other, and seeing each other again was super-swell and fabulous. The EuroCrew, forever in my heart. Chili's coasters from Seattle, baby!!!
Might be another 10 years before we are all together again, so we celebrated with japanese food, mojitos, coronas, and azian clubbing. Witness the reunion @ http://www-scf.usc.edu/~chenj/mylife.html

CELEBRITY SIGHTING: OZZY OSBOURNE @ WOOD RANCH THE GROVE........ or so i thought!

Last night, my delta family had dinner @ Wood Ranch @ The Grove. Things to point out @ this time: WOOD RANCH is a BBQ haven. Chicken, Pork Ribs. Beef Ribs. Tri-Tip. Garlic Rolls. Artichoke Dip. It is the place to go in LA for some damn good finger-lickin-lick-lick-lick good grub!!!! If you haven't been, Go, Run, Now! Ahree thoroughly enjoyed dining on a pair of BBQ'd chicken boobs, boobs that would not shrink in size, according to her. She claimed to have taken at least 5 bites of the boobs, yet the chicken boobs did not appear to reduce in size in her eyes. Things to ponder: abnormal hormonal chicken? Or was Ahree seeing a mirage?

Mao had trouble cutting up her "half of a chicken carcass" dinner platter as she decided to "eat like a lady," *gasp!* by using her fork and knife. Apparently her parents think she usually noshes in a "wild" manner. Personally, I have never witnessed Mao consuming food in a savage or sadistic manner, so I guess I should keep my eyes peeled for flying bones and chicken flesh next time. Note to self: Bring umbrella and pancho to dinner next time to fend off any AIRBOURNE food pieces from Mao's plate.

Nothing exciting occured on Kristen's plate, but if I do recall, she did model a lovely new bracelet with some pretty ICE. At dinner, Jess(AO) did mention her enjoyable days @ work. She had her 60 day review and her boss has complained that she spends much too much time on ** gasp!** AIM... who woulda knew!?!?!? To improve her behavior, Jess has decided that she's gonna go COLD TURKEY: she uninstalled AIM on her computer and hell has frozen over. DevilishXangel will no longer be online from 9-6 daily now. R.I.P. DxA. You will be missed. hahahah.

And, of course, my big sis. Bon Bon Bon. Funny annecdote, she was wearing a jean jacket and dinner, and I'm busy eating my fabulous tri-tip with lotsa BBQ sauce when she decided to take her jean jacket off to reveal an assymetrical clubbing like top. Fabulous top showing plenty of skin, it was, so I HAD to tease her with food still in my mouth, "Sexy top big sis!!!" And then Jess(AO) decided to point out, "Uhhh Jess, realll nice, you've got bbq sauce all over your mouth." Yeah. Note to self: don't talk with my mouth full of globby bbq sauce. Sorry if I grossed yall out.

Ok. The ultimate highlight of dinner was seeing OZZZY OSBOURNE....then realizing, it wasn't OZZY, but it was a WOMAN who looked like OZZY!!! Check it out, we're all sittin in a booth eating dinner, and I peer over Ahree's head at the next banquette behind our booth, believing that I see OZZY OSBOURNE in the flesh. I'm about to shout out to my delta family, "Look over there, it's Ozzy Osbbb..." when I realize, it's a brown-haired WOMAN who looks like OZZY. Scary thought I know. So I bust up laughin so hard, like I haven't laughed in ages and tell everyone at the table bout how I mistakened a women for OZZY OSBOURNE. All of us look over and most of us start cackling. It was great. Our table couldn't stop laughin, and neither could I. Ok. Maybe you had to be there.

Ok.... on a more serious and hearfelt note, last nite's dinner was held as a farewell dinner for my grandlil sis/daughter AHREE. Ms. Ahree Song hailing from the great Midwest. Who is she? She's a mini Korean girl who enjoys hittin up her local WAL-MART back home, cuz, it's apparently the thing to do out there in the midwest. Sweet, sweet, thoughtful girl she is and I'm gonna miss her soooooo much. She's this lil ball of fire, with such determination, love, thoughtfulness, dedication, and devotion to her p-sisses. I wish nothing but good things for her as she goes back to Ohio to attend Cornell during the fall for Hotel Management. She was only out here for a year, but she has definitely left a huge impact on all of us here, for a lifetime. It's very sad to see her go, and I pray she flies back out to LA for crucial events and for fun soon. We'll miss you, Ree, and your flashing boobs. xoxo.
Like a JUNKIE needs HEROIN.
Like a BABY needs FORMULA.
Like a FAT KID craves CAKE.
Like JESS loves...(fill in the blank)

High on Life
mp3s rockin: Macy Gray - Still, Peter Yorn - Girl Like You, Jimmy Eat World - My Sundown

-Someone looked @ my website today and was takin a look @ the new pictures I uploaded from AGC Talent Show... he took a looksy, and told me, "u guys look like u have a lotta fun." And when he said that, I told him, "yup, we're high on life."

High on Life. That is what we are. To be able to be so happy, to just kick back and be silly, be stupid, be girly, and just be real amongst these gurls, to feel like you have nothing to hold back, is honestly one of the greatest feelings I've had in college. Never have I felt like I couldn't trip, fall, STREAK(muahaha), burp, say something irrelevant, witty, cheesy, sarcastic, meaningful, or whatevers, infront of these people.

We're all individuals with such vast interests, different tastes in music, movies, clothes, styles, studying habits, cleaning habits, yet its the differences that make us love each other. We share our own personal interests with each other, and take on other sisters's interests cuz we wanna check out what our sisters love, are diggin, cuz we care enough to do that and want to do that. What was K-pop to me before I met Grace? Absolutely nothing. I love k-pop now. What was Engineering before I met Mell and Grace? Not much. What was my mp3 collection before I met Mell, Cheryl, Tracy, Mare, Shelly, Mao, Gauvin, Vicky, Anna Chu and everyone other Delta? Ecclectic...but not as ecclectic as it is now. It's funny and ironic how I can hear i certain song in my Winamp, and think of who suggested/exposed it to me.

And let's talk about movies. Helluv movies have significance because I got to see it with them, or talk to them about it, or got them to see it or they got me to see it. I swear. It's all these lil lil lil things, that add up to mean so much to me. So again, today, I say thank you. Thank you to Deltas. Thank you for that bid 4 falls ago in September. Thank you for not making my SC experience into what I thought it'd be..... instead, you've made it out to be better than I ever thought this experience could ever be.

So there you have it. Another reason for why I am grateful for living the life I do.

WTF!?!? Amy's ugly ass flowery costume she decided to model for us when we entered the store, finding white gym socks to use as arm gloves... "gym socks or fishnet stockings, guys?", Susan Park's body rolls, Mare's bad knee that needed icing, shelly's lucky XMAS socks, Hannah's ultimate ass shakin to Xtina, Emily's expert Wet'n'Wild blue eye shimmer, #203's salon's FLAT IRONS turned up to level 21 frying our hair...but dammmmn our hair looked good, singing Avril's Complicated in Topping and dancing to 50 Cent's In Da Club, doing our make-up together, pampering each other as we straighten each other's hair with the FLAT IRONS, using Jess' Watson's Blotting Paper, taking pics @ Tommy T, gettin looks on Jefferson and @ Burger King as strangers see 8 Deltas walkin around asking us why we were all dressed up and lookin good, Audrey sittin on GUM backstage..5 minutes before Call-Time, Ahree's "Uh! What!" Xtina move, Tracy droppin her pants so the world could see that DPK rocks yo' world. Do you understand now, why, DELTAS ROCK YO' WORLD? J.CREW: KILL 'EM WITH KINDNESS

nutshell: I never thought I'd like working retail as much as I do. Today, I had one of them feelings, when you realize, Retail really has some fabulous moments: when you become a pro-active sales associate, on the prowl, to stop potential SHOPLIFTERS. Now read by debrief on: "Shoplifting? Think again -- Kill 'Em With Kindness."

Time and Place of Crime Scene: J.CREW @ The Grove L.A. - Friday 5/2/03 - 6:00 PM on a Drizzling Evening

Crime Scene Situation: On the Retail Sales Floor: Threee Suspicious Teens demonstrating signs of potential 5-finger-ing, 2 Sales Associates practicing fabulous LOSS PREVENTION surveillance from the registers (Trisha and myself), and 1 FABULOUS MANAGER who located the suspicious perpetrators.

What Went Down: Manager noted that these 3 girls are frequent visitors of the store who always show traits of potential "winona" tactics. AKA 5-finger ganking. Manager has to leave for a moment to help a customer, but signals me to "keep tabs" on "3 girls in the front of the store." Jess slyly floats over to the front of the store and acts like she must find "some shelf she can't find, to put a pair of flip flops back into" and "re-fold an entire table of tank tops"... that.. *gasp!* just happen to be in the vicinity of the 3 girls.

Situation: 3 girls float around the front of the store: 1 in puffy jacket with umbrella aka Puffy, 1 in puffy pullover with big pockets aka Pullover, 1 in regular clothes with an umbrella aka Diversion. Puffy, Pullover, and Diversion float around and then Puffy picks up a pair of $48.00 white beach pants off the table by the front, the three walk over to the right side of the store and "chitter-chatter". As I focus intently on "finding the shelf that doesnt really exist" I watch for any suspicious activity. Puffy goes over to a table filled with Polo shirts and a tray with straw flip-flops. She picks up 1 $24.00 Tan Polo and 1 pair of straw flip-flops. The trio continue on the right side of the store, slightly huddled together, chatting away as I float around them to see if they are doing anything fishy. Puffy asks me, "Can I try these on?" I say: "Sure, right this way! Let me take those to the room for you" I open a fitting room for her, and place each individual item of hers down: A. White Beach Pants - Size M, B. Tan Polo - Size S, C. a pair of straw flip-flops. I ask for her name, and she says its BLANCA, I tell her kindly, "Blanca, my name is Jessica. Lemme know if you need anything else!" I leave the fitting room and ask I turn the corner onto the sales floor, Diversion comes up to me and takes me to the POLO table and asks, "Do you have a XS in the white polo?" I reply: "Lemme see if we do. I look through the table quickly. No XS. I tell her, "Lemme go ask the manager." I go ask Manager, manager says no. I return to Diversion and tell her we don't and so, Diversion and Pullover continue floating around the right side of the store and the front of the store.

I decide that it's been a few minutes, so I go and check up on Blanca.
Jess: "Blanca, how you doin' in there?"
Blanca: "Oh, I'm fine. Thank you."
Jess: "Ok, lemme know if you need anything."
(jess leaves to go help another customer with a fitting room. Jess comes back to Blanca's fitting room and Blanca comes out of fitting room with Tan Polo on and White Beach Pants in her hand)
Blanca: "Do you think you could get me a M in the Polo? And these Pants are a bit too long."
Jess: "Yes, of course. I'll go get you the shirt." (Blanca hands pants back to Jess, Jess gets the shirt for Blanca)
***now because the Manager had warned Jess of the potential shoplifters, Jess decides to peek into the pants, to see if Puffy had cut off the PRICE TAG and/or the SEWN-IN SECURITY SENSOR TAG.****
**drumrolll* Low and behold, Jess finds that the PRICE TAG and SEWN-IN SECURITY SENSOR TAG had be... CUT OFF!!! Jess hurries to tell the Manager of the situation.
Manager: "Jess, go check up on Blanca again and I'll keep an eye on the posse."
(Jess goes into fitting rooms)
Jess: (specifically said with enthusiasm) "Blanca, how is the Medium Polo fitting? And how are those slippers?"
Blanca: "Oh, they are great. I think I'm going to get both"
Jess: "Great!"
(Jess goes to find manager)
Manager: "Get her out of the room" ( As soon as manager says this, Blanca comes out of fitting rooms and goes to register, passing by Manager and Jess. Blanca walks over to register where sales associate sees that Blanca is a bit-sweaty and alert. Trisha: "Are you OK!?!?!?"
Blanca:"Yes." (not confidently, as she goes on to buy the polo and slippers)
**At this time Manager and Jess huddle closer to the front of the store and the door to keep tabs on POSSE and to see if they attempt to drop "sensor tags" in the store or steal. As POSSE is around the door area, customers are coming in, and to alert POSSE that "they are being watched", Manager and Jess great customers LOUDLY, "Hi, welcome to J.CREW!!!!!"

POSSE of Puffy, Pullover, and Diversion leave. Sans any J.Crew Merchandise. =)

AFTERMATH: After they left the Sales team searched the store to see if the SENSOR TAGS could be found, and BLANCA's fitting room was swept for any tags. No tags were found, but.........

LESSON TO BE LEARNED: ...evidence shows, BLANCA was indeed, a PERPETRATOR, along with her supporting cast of THUGS, attempting to STEAL WHITE BEACH PANTS, but because of the AMAZING sales team of J.CREW, the crime was thrwarted. And Justice prevailed. The Sales Associate team "KILLED 'EM WITH KINDNESS." Show 'em great customer service, let them know nicely that you are aware of every piece of merchandise they have with them and the perpetrators will.. RUN FOR THE HILLSSS!! If you ever think about shoplifting at J.CREW, think again. We will kill you with kindness, and have you running for your life. We're watching. =)

FRICKIN FUNNY TRAM B READING

On the infamous TRAM B, the USC upholstered bus (with the uber-godawful fragrance of body funk) that takes students roundtrip from campus-to-off-campus housing, I was reading an article about MARGARET CHO. Here's a funny excerpt.

"DOES MARGARET CHO HAVE SARS?" This All-American Girl is Ready to Sink DOwn to Your Level"
by Minnie Chi

Recently returned from the Canadian leg of her REVOLUTION tour, Marget Cho got more attention than she bargained for on the streets of Toronto. A few uber-paranoid Canadians immediately covered their faces with surgical masks at the sight of Korean-American Cho, not because she looked sickly or coughed up chunks of lung, but because she's Asian adn therefore capable of carrying the deadly SARS virus. Naturally, discrimination does not sit well with the Notorious Cho and she dealt with it in the only way one would expect her to.

"I stopped right in front of them, collapsed to the ground and started coughing dramatically. I tried to reach over to touch one of them, yelping 'Help me!' and they were flipping out," she says gleefully. "It was hilarious because they were just so scared of my reaction. My trouring group and I were dying laughing. Like, fuck those guys! Who do they think they are? I don't have SARS just because I'm Asian! Most people would say to jsut walk away and not to sink to their level and I'm like 'No, i AM going to sink down to their level' cause that's funny and you know what? They're not going to do that to someone else because they realized I was fucking with them after some time and of course they were busted."

If find Margaret Cho to be exceptionally hilarious. Can you tell?

Procastination leads to: JESS STRATEGIZING
FUTURE GOALSand ACCOMPLISHMENTS
as she aims to take over the world, in a
positive way, by making a difference, in the future.

Ok, it's 11:38 @ night, I've watched alias, wrote 2 blog
entries, and here I am on my third entry for the day. hehhe.
Ok, below are a few upcoming goals/methods of making a difference to the world in the near future.
1. learn photography and be a photographer
2. be a teacher @ the end of my career lifespan, teach lil kids, inquire about the
teachforamerica.org program.
3. open a hip Asian Tapas Bar with my blood sisters some where in California. Offering lovely scrumptious Pan-Asian Fusion bites that are to-die-for, definitely offering an awesome Happy Hour atomosphere, catering to yuppie and the Happy Hour 20-30something crowd, with an amazing bar, and bar selection cuz alcohol can be overpriced up to 300%, whith phenomenal customer service and relations (courtesy of me), great foood (courtesy of kat and myself), and great design and boutiquey feel (i guess, courtesy of wei, all of us).
4. make my own movies or something creative, artistic, that evokes emotional outpouring from every member of my audience. painting? photos? art? Who knows. Maybe everything.
5. I wanna move people. engage people. make others feel valued and appreciated. i wanna create. leave an artistic mark on my peers. the world. make this world a better place. make a difference. share the love. feel the love. and hopefully, get some of all of that back in return.....@ some point.

as you can probably tell, i have big dreams. huge ones. and i plan on sharing all of the future glory with my peoples. you know who you are. you know what, life seems great @ this moment, this second, cuz I have sooooOooOoOO much to look forward to, it seems insane. See all of you down the road in the future, cuz I WILL remember you, now will you remember me?
Ok. I know. I'm ALIAS obssessed.

Here is a rant on why this is. =)

I don't care how crazy ya'll think I am. But, doode,
I love ALIAS like no other show on earth. This is my
ULTRA-RANDOMNESS moment right now, so sit back, buckle your seat belt, pull up your socks, button your pants, zip up the zippers, cuz get ready, for my RANT on ALIAS... the best show tooo many of you are NOT watching. =)

ALIAS
What: spy drama
When: Sunday nights @ 9, on ABC... 2-hour season finale Sunday May 4th, 2003
Who: stars Jennifer Garner (eye candy for the boyz), and the hottest man on earth, MICHAEL VARTAN (extreemmme eye candy for the girls)
Why you should watch it:
1. Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan are AMAZINGG.
2. The plots are fully engaging, smartly written, has depth, great character development, ain't boring, keeps you thoroughly entertained with action, booty, drama, comedy, the whole 9 yards, and michael vartan!!!!
3. It's a tv show, with 22 new episodes each season, which, UNLIKE a movie, is a continuing saga the quench your thirst 22 weeks outta the year, not including repeats. I used to think I loved movies way more than tv. Then I realized, shiet, a movie is something that comes out after a long wait, gives you 2 hours of entertainment, and then DONE. Nothing more to offer after that. That 2 hour is the lifespan. No prompt sequels, upcoming episodes (sequels that are made 1, 2, 3, or more years after don't count, cuz the lifespan just doesn't cut it.) Anyways, so yeah, each with the story develops, more stuff happens, things aren't rushed into 2 hours in a theatre. People can be strangers, friends, acquaintences with MAJOR angst going on between them, enemies, a couple, a married twosome, etc. etc.

It's way more satisfying watching a one-hour drama like ALIAS, cuz I've got something on tv to look forward to, something to look forward to besides "Gilmore Girls, Punk'd, The Real World/Road Rules Battle of the Sexes, SATC" just to name a few... now that always makes life slightly easier to handle. Anyways, it's kinda like your favorite movie, but with more chapters that follow. Dunno bout you, but sometimes I love a movie so much, that I wished there was more after the movie, having that "what happens now?" question and wondering, cuz this movie fully engaged your artistic appetite, ESCAPISM at its finest! So yeah, movies come and go, but tv shows, like alias, are ongoing creative tellings of engaging stories, that can last a year, or two, or more, as ALIAS has proven.

This is the show to watch. This is the show that you need to watch, but haven't been watching. So tune in next sunday!!!

FYI: For those of you that know you, ya'll know that I have loved GEORGE CLOONEY for foreeever. And I hate to admit it, but he has been dethroned by.........*drumroll* Michael Vartan!!!! He's my new numero uno!!!!! Is it me or is there a hot piece of ass up in here!?!?! ---->

Ok. have a great day, everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An awesome song I found.... with awesome lyrics.....

Gigolo Aunts - My Favorite Regret

Will you be my favorite regret?
Could I be your sweetest mistake?
Trade one step back for two ahead...
Just a little time that's all
Don't be afraid to fall
This catch I won't forget
My favorite regret

Won't you let me chip away the stone?
Are you really better off alone?
Won't you let your guard down one more time
Just like I've done mine
We'll look until we find something neither will forget
My favorite regret

Will you be my favorite regret?
Cut the strings attached but save the thread
And I know your feelings are probably right
But just this once tonight as you lay in your bed
Place a little on this bet
My favorite regret....

Listening To: Matchbox Twenty - Hand Me Down
Wouldn't This Be Sweet... To Find Someone Who Could Say This, Offer This and Feel This? I'd say so.
(read the lyrics below..cuz they kick major asss)

Why i like the lyrics? It's about giving.... and I wonder if any guy are in any way CAPABLE of the big G-word: Giving. Sometime I wonder if people, especially guys, realize what give-n-take is. Give-n-take is crucial, and if their ain't no giving from your end, you ain't taking none of me, no-sir-reee.

Someday they'll find your small town world on a big town avenue
Gonna make you like the way they talk when they're talking to you
Gonna make you break out of the shell cause they tell you to
Gonna make you like the way they lie better than the truth
They'll tell you everything you wanted someone else to say
They're gonna break your heart, yeah

From what I've seen
You're just a one more hand me down
Cause no one's tried to give you what you need
So lay all your troubles down
I am with you now

Somebody ought to take you in
Try to make you love again
Try to make you like the way they feel
When they're under your skin
Never once did think they'd lie when they're holding you
You wonder why they haven't called
When they said they'd call you
You start to wonder if you're ever gonna make it by
You'll start to think you were born blind

I'm here for the hard times
The straight to your heart times
Whenever it ain't easy
You can stand up against me
And maybe rely on me
And cry on me, yeah
Oh no, no, no

Some day they'll open up your world
Shake it down on a drawing board
Do their best to change you
They still can't erase you

Lay them down on me
Oh yeah
You're just one more hand me down
And all those nots don't give you what you need
So lay all your troubles down...on me

OK. Welcome Back. To Myself. And You.

What's up: THE REAL CANCUN!!!!!!!!! OFF THE HEEEZEEE!
Ok, so today, lovely Tin was able to get enough tickets for lovely older sister kat, skesser, and susie, and myself, to see New Line's THE REAL CANCUN. Lemme tell ya, OFF THE HEEEZEEE. It's realllly fun to watch, the audience gets involved with all the T & A that's flyin everywhere. It was crazy fun watching with the gurls and everyone in the theatre.

What is THE REAL CANCUN: mtv's real world/road rules creater Bunnim/Murray follow 16 co-eds, picked to live together for a week in cancun with each other and party, party, party, drink, drink, drink. I advise all college kids to watch it. It's worthy of no critical acclaim, but is worth watchin just for the hell of it, and for the guilty pleasure of watching people make complete fooools of themselves, and to see people do things you would NEVER consider doing. i.e. wet t-shirt contests basically buttttt-ass naked, whore-ing around, and just being an utter fool/pimp/nerd/whatevers.

Tin, Kat, Skess, susie, and I wanna go to cancun for spring break sometime in the future. I think that would be rad, and offf-the-heeeezeeeee. I can't wait. =)
